For what purpose did Rahul Gandhi launch a new attack on PM Modi by taking the name of ED?

Rahul Gandhi has expressed the fear of new action by ED against him. But Rahul Gandhi has expressed this fear in a challenging manner. Rahul Gandhi has tagged the ED director in a post on social site X – and has also offered him tea and biscuits on reaching home.

The Congress leader has expressed apprehension of Enforcement Directorate raid against him, and he believes that his speech on Chakravyuh in the Parliament is the reason behind it. During the discussion on the budget, Rahul Gandhi mentioned Chakravyuh in the Parliament and named 6 names from the ruling party like the characters of Mahabharata, two of which are Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leader Amit Shah.

Obviously, Rahul Gandhi’s target is Modi and Shah, even though he is referring to the raids on his premises by the Enforcement Directorate. This statement of Rahul Gandhi regarding ED is exactly like the one heard from the mouth of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal before his arrest. Not only his own, but Arvind Kejriwal used to give similar statements before the arrest of Surendra Jain and Sanjay Singh. Arvind Kejriwal has got interim bail from the Supreme Court in the ED case, but the court’s stand on the bail plea in the CBI case is awaited.

Rahul Gandhi made this post on August 1, 2024 at 1.52 pm – and also said that he got this information from sources in the Enforcement Directorate itself. Enforcement Directorate officials had questioned Rahul Gandhi as well as Sonia Gandhi for several days in the National Herald case in 2022.

What has Rahul Gandhi written on social media?

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has written, ‘Clearly, 2-in-1 did not like my Chakravyuh speech… ED insiders told me that a raid is being planned against me… I am waiting for ED officers with open arms… along with tea and biscuits… from me.’

Apparently, the 2 in 1 did not like my Chakravyuh speech. An ED ‘insider’ told me that raids are being planned.

waiting with open arms @dir_ed…..Tea and biscuits from me.

The speech that Rahul Gandhi has mentioned on Chakravyuh was given by him in Lok Sabha on 29th July during the discussion on the budget. Comparing the common people with Abhimanyu, Rahul Gandhi had described the budget as similar to Chakravyuh. Rahul Gandhi said that just like Abhimanyu was surrounded by 6 people in the Chakravyuh during Mahabharata, at present the people of the country are also surrounded by six such people.

The Congress leader had said, thousands of years ago in Kurukshetra, Abhimanyu was trapped in a Chakravyuh and killed by 6 people. Another name for Chakravyuh is Padmavyuh, which is in the shape of a lotus flower… inside which there is fear and violence.

According to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, these 6 people are – Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat, Ajit Doval, Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani.

A new Chakravyuh has been created in the 21st century, says Rahul Gandhi, that too has been prepared in the form of a lotus flower… which the Prime Minister carries on his chest… What was done with Abhimanyu is being done with India… The farmers, labourers and youth of the country are scared.

On Rahul Gandhi’s claim, BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh says, it is the misfortune of the country that Rahul Gandhi is the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha… He is not only lying inside the Parliament but is also spreading propaganda outside… He is asking the world about his caste, and is running away from revealing his caste.

Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has claimed that Rahul Gandhi can also be attacked, the conspiracy for which has been hatched on foreign soil. Sanjay Raut says, Rahul Gandhi has shown the mirror to the government in the Lok Sabha… The government can again take action against Rahul Gandhi… We are ready for this.

Sanjay Raut claims that not just Rahul Gandhi, but a conspiracy is being hatched against all those who are raising their voice against the government to save democracy… This conspiracy is being hatched on foreign soil… anything can happen, we can all be attacked.

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut says that she does not understand Rahul Gandhi’s words. After Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Parliament, Kangana had said, ‘The state in which he reaches Parliament and talks in a panic… I was surprised to see… He said in Parliament… This competition… This is in Shivaji’s procession and Chakravyuh… Doesn’t this make you think that this man should be drug tested? I think there should be an investigation, either he is drunk or under the influence of drugs… Does any person speak such things in his senses?’

Is there a possibility of Rahul Gandhi being arrested?

Rahul Gandhi has only expressed the possibility of a raid. He has not spoken about any action like arrest. Rahul Gandhi’s sources inside the ED may have told only this much. It is also possible that Rahul Gandhi has more information, but for now he has only shared the information about the raid. It is possible that all this is a part of the strategy of Rahul Gandhi and his advisors.

Two years ago, when Rahul Gandhi was called to the ED office for questioning, there were apprehensions of his arrest. At that time, apart from Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi was also questioned, and before that Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress leader Pawan Bansal were also questioned.

If we look at it, the arrest of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also surprising. Hemant Soren had resigned before his arrest, but Arvind Kejriwal is still the Chief Minister. Hemant Soren has also become the Chief Minister again – but there is a lot of difference between Rahul Gandhi and Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal.

Rahul Gandhi is a much bigger leader than both of them, and now he has also become the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Certainly, after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi did not have the status that he has now.

Rahul Gandhi has the support of Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal, and he is also getting support from leaders with a large mass base like Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and Mamta Banerjee. The way Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has been removed from the command of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee can come even closer to the Congress.

As far as the possibility of Rahul Gandhi’s arrest is concerned, it can be traced to the ED notice issued to Sharad Pawar in 2019. Maharashtra assembly elections were about to be held at that time, and the ED had sent a notice to Maharashtra’s veteran NCP leader Sharad Pawar – immediately after receiving the notice, Sharad Pawar called a press conference and announced that he would personally go to the Enforcement Directorate’s office for questioning.

As soon as Sharad Pawar said this, there was a stir in the whole of Mumbai. The police administration started panicking. In a hurry, the entire staff met Sharad Pawar and started requesting him to postpone his program. Later, when he was assured that there was no need for him to come to the office, Sharad Pawar issued his statement, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Now it depends on Rahul Gandhi’s political power and status whether ED officers can muster the courage to arrest him or not. So, by taking on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in different ways, is Rahul Gandhi testing his standing in the current Indian politics?
