History was created in Jharkhand on 29 August by giving a government job to a transgender. It was like a dream come true for transgenders in the state when the Hemant Soren government handed over the first appointment to a transgender. Transgender Amir Mahato was on cloud nine and looked very happy when CM Hemant Soren handed over the appointment letter to her. Let us know on which post Amir Mahato has got a government job.
Mother’s dream came true
Mahato has done nursing training from Sambalpur. 365 candidates were given appointment under the National Health Mission. Amir Mahato is a resident of West Singhbhum district of the state. Amir Mahato said that her mother wanted her to become a nurse, but the conditions at home were not favorable and she could not pursue the profession that her mother wanted at that time. But today her mother’s dream has been fulfilled.
Appointment to these positions
Aamir said that she has no complaints with God. She is really very happy and feels successful. She said that she never thought that she would be appointed to the post of Jharkhand CHO. She thanked the Chief Minister for this initiative and idea. There is already a provision for appointment of transgenders in Bihar, Karnataka, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Now Jharkhand has also opened a new way of appointment for transgenders. This will facilitate them in living a respectable and quality life.
In September 2023, the Jharkhand Cabinet approved reservation of seats and share for the third gender. The Jharkhand government has made arrangements for reservation in educational institutions and government appointments. The third gender is entitled to reservation under the OBC quota.
