Flower shower from helicopter, 21 gun salute… PM Modi will present the vision of developed India on Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in the celebrations of the 78th Independence Day from the historic Red Fort in Delhi today, August 15. He will hoist the national flag and deliver his traditional address, which has been themed ‘Developed India @ 2047’. It aims to take forward the government’s efforts towards transforming India into a developed nation by the centenary of independence in 2047.

To promote public participation, about 6,000 special guests have been invited. People associated with initiatives like Atal Innovation Mission, volunteers of Mera Yuva Bharat, people from tribal communities and representatives of farmers’ organizations will also be present in the program.

It is being told that about 2,000 people dressed in traditional attire from different states/union territories have also been invited for this ceremony. Three thousand winners of various online competitions organized by the Ministry of Defense in collaboration with MyGov and Akashvani will also be a part of this ceremony.

Defense Minister will welcome the PM at Red Fort

Upon his arrival at the Red Fort, PM Modi will be welcomed by prominent dignitaries including the Defence Minister and Defence Secretary. He will be greeted by a guard of honour comprising personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police. The PM will inspect the guard, which will include coordinating jawans and commanding officers.

21 gun salute will be given from field guns

The Prime Minister will proceed to the ramparts to hoist the flag, when a 21-gun salute will be given using indigenous 105 mm light field guns. It will be a moment of national pride and celebration. The National Flag Guard, which will include representatives of the armed forces and the Delhi Police, will give the national salute when the tricolour is hoisted.

Flower shower will be done from helicopters

As soon as the Prime Minister hoists the flag, flower petals will be showered from the indigenous Advanced Light Helicopters. This aerial display will be done by the Wing Commanders of the Indian Air Force. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi can present the roadmap for developing the country in the coming decades.

NCC cadets will sing the national anthem

As the Prime Minister unfurls the flag, the National Cadet Corps cadets present here will sing the national anthem, which is a symbol of national unity and pride. The cadets will also participate in an event that will highlight the ‘Mera Bharat’ logo, which will include customized tricolor kits. Apart from these, 500 volunteers of the National Service Scheme will also play an active role.
