IMD Monsoon Updates: After the scorching heat, heavy rains have started in the entire country. This time the monsoon has covered the entire country six days before its scheduled time. Heavy rains are falling in most of the states of the country from north to south. States like Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan, which are battling the heat, have also got relief. But the condition is bad due to rain in the northeastern part. Heavy rains have created a flood-like situation in Manipur and Assam.

Schools and colleges in Manipur have been closed till Thursday. The embankments of the Imphal river at Singjamei Oinam Thingal in Imphal West and Kongba river embankments at some parts of Keirao and Kongba Irong in Imphal East have broken. The water level of Iril river is overflowing in Sawombang and some parts of Khetrigao in Imphal East. In Nagaland, about five people have died in rain-related incidents in the past few days. Talking about Assam, eight more people died due to floods and landslides on Wednesday, while more than 16.25 lakh people in 27 districts have been affected by the floods.

Rain forecast for 3 days

Meanwhile, according to the forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain with lightning and thunder may occur in the north-west and central parts of the country. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected in West Uttar Pradesh on 3 and 4 July. On the other hand, very heavy rain has been predicted in Uttarakhand for the next three days. On the other hand, if we talk about the Northeast, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya till 6 July.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in 26 states of the country. The Meteorological Department has said that Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram may receive heavy to very heavy rains.
