Five people are reported to have been killed in an Israeli drone attack on a car in the occupied West Bank

Five Palestinians were killed and two wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a car in the occupied West Bank city of Tubas, according to local media and medical personnel.

Israel said early Thursday that military aircraft had taken part in “three separate strikes” on Palestinian fighters who posed a “threat” to its forces in the Tubas region.

Palestinian medics reported that an Israeli airstrike targeting a car killed five people and wounded two others, one critically, according to the Palestinian state news agency, Wafa.

According to Wafa, the attack was carried out by armed drones, and Palestine Red Crescent Society ambulance crews brought the bodies of five dead men and two wounded people to the Tubas Turkish government hospital.

The five were killed when a large force of Israeli soldiers stormed the Fara refugee camp in Tubas governorate, where explosions were heard, witnesses told the AFP news agency.

Israel launched a massive military offensive in the occupied West Bank last week that has now killed at least 38 Palestinians and wounded 130 with most of the casualties in Jenin.

Palestinian children have been killed in Israeli attacks across the West Bank, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The military raids, mostly focused on the Tulkarem and Jenin refugee camps, are Israel’s largest assault on occupied territory since the second intifada in the early 2000s.

The raids have seen significant violence and numerous arrests, while roads and other infrastructure have been destroyed by Israeli military bulldozers, OCHA said, adding that it mobilized organizations from the UN and beyond to assess damage and humanitarian needs on the ground. is
