FIR against 300, 40 arrested… Action on protesters in Badlapur, they had protested against the disgusting act against girls

There is an uproar after the incident of sexual assault on two kindergarten girls in Badlapur, Maharashtra. After the incident, people became angry and blocked the railway track. There was vandalism in the school, after which the police lathi-charged. Internet was shut down. An FIR has been registered against about 300 people protesting in this entire matter. After this, the police have arrested more than 40 people. Thane Police says that the arrested people will be produced in court today.

Regarding this incident, DCP Manoj Patil of Central Railway GRP said that the situation is normal. Railway movement is also normal. No section has been imposed now. Internet services will remain suspended for a few days so that rumors do not spread.

According to the police, two kindergarten girls were sexually abused in the school toilet on August 13. The incident came to light when one of the girls informed her parents about the incident on August 16. The accused, Akshay Shinde, was arrested on August 17.

What happened in Badlapur, understand the whole incident

After the matter came to light on Tuesday, thousands of people gathered at Badlapur railway station and protested. Due to this, the route of 12 express and mail trains had to be changed. 30 local trains had to be partially cancelled and the route of some long distance trains was also changed.

The protest turned violent in Badlapur and angry people pelted stones and vandalised a school. A bus was also damaged near Badlapur railway station. The police ended the protest after nine hours by lathi-charging and clearing the railway tracks.

The parents of the victim girls alleged that the police registered their complaint after 12 hours. According to sources, during investigation the police found that the CCTV installed in the school was not working. The parents also expressed concern as to why a female employee was not appointed to clean the girls’ toilet.

The victims’ families went to the school and waited for three hours before the police arrived to record statements from the girls. The school management suspended the principal, a class teacher and a female attendant for the incident. The accused sweeper Akshay Shinde was appointed on a contract basis on August 1.

The Maharashtra government ordered the suspension of three police officials, including a senior police inspector, for alleged negligence in investigating the case. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to investigate the case.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that he has directed the Thane Police Commissioner to prepare a proposal to hear the case in a fast-track court. Meanwhile, the accused was sent to three-day police remand by a court.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured action against the school and said that the case will be investigated swiftly and the culprits will not be spared.

The Maharashtra government has ordered the formation of an SIT under the chairmanship of senior IPS officer Aarti Singh to investigate this matter.

When this incident came to light, people of the entire area came out on the streets in protest and thousands of protesters blocked the railway track at Badlapur station. Due to this, local train services came to a halt. The routes of long distance trains had to be changed. At Badlapur railway station, the protesters pelted stones at the police and vandalized the school building. The police lathicharged the protesters at the railway station and ended the protest after nine hours.

Regarding this entire matter, opposition parties alleged that the parents of the victim girls had to wait for 11 hours at the Badalpur police station, after which the officials registered their complaint.
