Finance Minister’s reaction on 14 hours of work per day for IT employees, said- ‘If Karnataka government…’

The budget (Union Budget 2024) has been presented and after this, politics was seen to be intensified on the meeting of NITI Aayog held. First the Chief Ministers of the opposition parties boycotted it, while West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee participated, but in the middle she also boycotted it accusing her of being allowed to speak less. Now Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reacted to Mamta Banerjee, along with this Nirmala Sitharaman has also given her opinion on the bill of 14 hours work for IT employees in Karnataka.

Karnataka government does a U-turn after protests
First of all, let us tell you that when the Karnataka government proposed a bill related to making IT professionals work 14 hours every day, the debate on this has intensified. BJP continuously attacked the Siddaramaiah government of the state on this issue, while the employee unions also urged to reconsider it. Due to these protests, the government has taken a U-turn on this bill. However, Minister Lad in Karnataka said that the government is still examining the bill, due to which software professionals will be forced to work 14 hours every day.

Finance Minister refused to comment
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also given her opinion on the government’s bill to increase the working hours of IT employees in Karnataka. On the 14-hour working hours for IT employees, she has said that if the Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka is making such a statement, then I do not have to make any comment on this matter, because they have brought the state to such a situation. It is worth noting that after the debate broke out on this issue, Karnataka Labor Minister Santosh Lad had clarified that there is pressure from the IT industry to make a law to get more hours of work from those working in the tech sector.

What did the Finance Minister say about Mamata Banerjee?
The 9th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog was held in Delhi on Saturday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the boycott and allegations made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who attended the meeting, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that every Chief Minister was given adequate time to speak in the meeting. It is unfortunate that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that her mic was switched off, which is absolutely false.

‘This is an opportunity for them to speak…’
Finance Minister Sitharaman said that the West Bengal CM came to the meeting, it is good that she attended it and said that she spoke on behalf of all the opposition parties. But it is sad that she boycotted. According to the Finance Minister, Mamata Banerjee always says that her voice is not being heard, but this is a good opportunity for her to speak. On being told that Budget 2024 is a copy of the Congress manifesto, the Finance Minister said that how can we copy a poorly made manifesto.
