Fernando Alonso shows a drastic change in lifestyle after constant problems

Fernando Alonso has revealed a major lifestyle change, partly to boost his performance at Aston Martin, but mostly to improve his quality of life. The famous Spanish driver, decorated with a career spanning more than two decades and two world titles, has made extensive changes to his diet as part of a move to improve his physical condition.

Alonso, who first entered Formula One in 2001 and quickly rose to fame with Renault as the youngest ever champion at the age of 24, is no stranger to the grueling demands of top-level motorsport.

Despite his formidable track record and experience in various racing formats, recent struggles with his physical condition have prompted him to reevaluate his approach to his personal nutrition.

“I usually don’t eat much. Pedro de la Rosa eats like three people,” Alonso joked. However, he began to experience the negative side effects of the normal diet.

“Eight or nine months ago I started to stop eating meat and fish,” Alonso told DAZN. “I felt sick or I felt very heavy in general, digestion took a while.”

Now, following a predominantly vegetarian diet, Alonso explained:

“Let’s just say without being too strict I think I have a vegetarian diet.”

Alonso’s switch to a vegetarian diet is part of a broader strategy to gain marginal gains on the track. Despite a storied career, his current position in the driver rankings places him ninth, reflecting Aston Martin’s ongoing challenges with car performance.

In the aftermath of the recent Italian Grand Prix, Alonso didn’t mince words about the car’s limitations.

“I think the car was set to be sixteenth or seventeenth today? We have almost no power and that makes the race difficult for us,” he observed. “But we have to keep fighting to come back strong. Let’s see if there is an answer, some action, not always with the same car. ,” Alonso said.

Despite these odds, Alonso managed to finish the race in eleventh place, a result he found disappointing as he was only one place away from bringing home the points.

“Then, in the end, we finished eleventh,” he noted. “It hurts a lot not to take any points from a single second in a race. But the eleventh is far more hell than we deserve. It is what it is,” Alonso concluded after the race.

“It was a difficult race. We optimized the pace as best as possible, but today we had problems with the pace of the car on the track,” admitted Alonso.
