A gang printing fake notes has been busted in Prayagraj, UP. These fake notes were being printed in a madrasa in Atrasuiya area. The police raided and arrested four accused. The acting principal of the madrasa is also included in this. The police have recovered fake notes worth Rs 1 lakh 30 thousand, semi-manufactured currency and printer etc. from them.
Civil Lines Police of Prayagraj said that the arrested accused include the acting principal of the madrasa, Maulvi Mohammad Tafseerul Arifin, besides Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Shahid and mastermind Zahir Khan alias Abdul Zahir. At present, their other accomplices are being searched for.
In this case, DCP City Deepak Bhukar has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 to the police team that exposed the counterfeit note making gang. He said that the police conducted a raid based on intelligence input. Four people have been arrested from the spot. Fake notes and material used for making counterfeit notes have been recovered from them. Further legal proceedings are underway.
Actually, there is a madrasa named Jamia Habibiya Masjid e Azam in the Atarsuiya area of the city. The acting principal of this madrasa, Md. Tafseerul had given a room to the accused to live in. Fake notes were being printed in the same room. The special thing was that only 100 rupee notes were being printed. So that these notes could be easily circulated in the market.
On the information of the informer, the police arrested four accused from the spot. According to the police, the work of printing and circulating fake notes was going on for 3 months. In this case, a case has been registered in Civil Lines police station under sections 178, 179, 180 181 182 (1) of the Indian Penal Code. At present, all four have been sent to jail. The rest are being searched.
