EXCN murder accused arrested in encounter, had entered the house and beaten him to death

In Sultanpur, UP, around 2 am on Saturday night, there was an encounter between the police and the accused of the XEN murder case. Due to which two accused including the main accused, AE of Jal Nigam, got shot in their legs. Both of them got injured. Both of them have been admitted to the Government Medical College. Police said that both of them were trying to escape to Bihar via Varanasi. Both of them together had beaten the XEN to death in the city area on Saturday morning.

Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar informed that Kotwali Nagar in-charge AK Dwivedi received information on Saturday night that both the accused of XEN murder case, Amit and his partner Pradeep are trying to escape from Banaras to Bihar via Banaras Road from Dubeypur turn. On this information, the police team started the siege. Meanwhile, both the murder accused were seen coming at around 2 o’clock in the night.

During this, the accused started firing as soon as they saw the police team already present there. After which both of them started running towards the back of the airstrip located in Amhat of Kotwali Nagar. While chasing both of them, the police fired in self-defense. Both Amit Kumar and Pradeep got injured in the firing. After which both of them were sent to the Government Medical College.

The office of the rural water corporation is located in Vinobapuri locality of Kotwali Nagar. Just 50 meters away from here, the executive engineer of rural water corporation Santosh Kumar lived in a rented house. On Saturday morning, Amit, a contract assistant engineer of his department and another person called his driver and got the door open and then beat him to death. The deceased was a native of Ratsadkala in Ballia, his family lives in Prayagraj. On receiving the information, the deceased’s brother Sanjay Kumar and his wife etc. reached Sultanpur.

On the complaint of the brother, a case of murder was registered against AE Amit Kumar and an unknown person. The deceased’s father is also an officer in the Railways in Prayagraj. His 35-year-old wife Mamta also works in a government job.
