According to the information that aajtak.in has received from sources connected to BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), the place of 4 players is confirmed in the upcoming 10 test matches. If a 15-member squad is considered, then 11 players will have to do a lot of ‘nurakushti’. That means many faces in the names of these 11 players can surprise you.

BCCI sources said that captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jaspreet Bumrah and R Ashwin are certain to play in the next 10 Tests. Whereas, other players will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Duleep Trophy.

Duleep Trophy will start on 5th September. 4 teams will play in it. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin have been exempted from playing in this tournament. That means they will not play in the tournament. But all these four players will definitely be seen playing in the upcoming 10 Tests.

Sources also said that Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and Head Coach Gautam Gambhir will keep an eye on the performance of these players. Other selectors Shiv Sundar Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola, Sridharan Sharath will also go to the ground to see the performance of the players. In such a situation, the performance of the players in the Duleep Trophy matches will also be seen on the ground.

The Indian team is at the top of the WTC points table with 68.52 percentage points. India has 74 points from 6 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw in 9 matches so far. This is the third round of the World Test Championship, which started in 2023 and will continue till 2025. The ICC has already released the rules related to the points system for this third round. The team will get 12 points for winning the Test match, 4 points for drawing the match and 6 points for tying the match.

At the same time, 100 percent points will be added for winning the match, 50 percent for a tie, 33.33 percent for a draw and zero percent for losing. A total of 24 points will be available in a two-match series and 60 points in a five-match series. Since the ranking in the points table is primarily determined on the basis of winning percentage.

The Indian team has to play 10 Test matches in the next 111 days (3 months 19 days) from 19 September. While overall, in 5 months, apart from 10 Tests, 8 T20 and 3 ODI matches have to be played. After Bangladesh, India has to play three Test matches against New Zealand and five against Australia on their soil.
