‘Excessive self-confidence can be dangerous, stay connected with the public…’, CM Yogi’s advice to BJP workers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday urged BJP workers to avoid overconfidence, stay connected with the common people and establish strong communication and coordination. He addressed a party meeting here ahead of the assembly by-elections. The Ghaziabad assembly seat fell vacant after the Lok Sabha elections as BJP’s Atul Garg won the election. It is one of the 10 assembly seats for which by-elections are to be held, but the dates have not been announced yet.

He said, ‘The central and state governments have given schemes for every section of the society without any discrimination. Tell the voters about the development work done by the government and encourage them to support the Bharatiya Janata Party. Every worker should add 10 people to his team and focus on campaigning at the booth level.

The Chief Minister said, ‘Booth Jeeta is the main mantra to win the election.’ During the meeting, Adityanath stressed the importance of the voter list and urged party workers to take it seriously. He stressed the need to ensure accuracy and advised them to keep revising the list until it is finalised, the statement said.

He also instructed BJP workers to ensure that no voter is left out. He encouraged the workers to go door-to-door and contact voters and tell them about the various beneficial schemes offered by the government.

CM Adityanath said that the opposition has spread false rumours about reservation and the Constitution. ‘When these opposition parties come to seek votes in the by-elections, ask their leaders, ‘Aakhir Ek Lakh Kahan Hai?’ (Where is the promised one lakh rupees?). Use your vote to expose their lies.

The CM said, ‘The SP-Congress alliance has tried to mislead the public and their lies should be exposed. Also, people should be told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had carried the original copy of the Constitution to Parliament on his head. He has developed all sections of the society.’

The Chief Minister interacted with the presidents of all the fronts of the BJP and the conveners of various cells. He inquired from the office bearers of the fronts about the work being done and the necessary action. The conveners of 22 cells, including youth, women, business, labour, economic, small scale industry, educational institutions and law, shared their views and updates.

BJP regional president Satyendra Sisodia, former Union minister General (retd) VK Singh, Ghaziabad MP Atul Garg, mayor Sunita Dayal and state government minister Kapildev Aggarwal, among others, attended the party meeting.
