ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith teases officials over handling of Tyreek Hill detention: ‘This is not going away’

ESPN star Stephen A. Smith criticized authorities in South Florida for detaining Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill for a traffic violation.

Hill was in handcuffs near Hard Rock Stadium Sunday morning, hours earlier Dolphin Jacksonville faced the Jaguars. The Dolphins said in a statement that Hill was “shortly detained” in the incident.

He was cited for reckless driving, ESPN reported, citing sources.

Some videos have surfaced on social media A hill on the ground. Smith was critical of how officials handled the situation.

“This story with the police involving (Tyreek Hill) is not evil. Traffic violation? Well,” Smith wrote on X. “But WTH he was down in cuffs, stood up, then another officer ran after him and forced him to the ground again??? Hell no! Too much! Wrong! Again, this does not go away.

“Look for you. This is totally unnecessary. And btw…., I know the Scotty Scheffler incident was in Georgia — not Florida — and he was arrested, detained, booked. I also know That we don’t know all the details, blah…..blah! He wasn’t tackled to the ground after that. Nah! This story isn’t going away .”

Hill played against the Jaguars later on Sunday.
