Encounter between police and cow smugglers in Ghazipur, one shot in the leg, 4 arrested

There was an encounter between the police and cow smugglers in the Shadiabad police station area in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh late on Sunday night. Due to which a cow smuggler was injured by a police bullet. After which the police arrested 4 cow smugglers including the injured one. The injured cow smuggler is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. At present, his condition is said to be stable.

The police have recovered a pistol and cartridges along with beef from the arrested cow smugglers. In this case, CO Bhudkuda Balram said that the police of Shadiabad police station was conducting vehicle checking as part of a campaign against crime and criminals in the police station area. During this, all four were arrested. During this, when they were interrogated strictly, all four admitted to cow smuggling.

On the information given by the four, the police recovered chopped beef from a sack and the trunk of a scooty from a ruin near Mohabbatpur village. During this, a smuggler, Chunnu Qureshi, pushed the police and started running away and started firing at the police with the intention of killing them from a pistol that he had already kept in the bushes. In the retaliatory action of the police, Chunnu Qureshi got shot in his left leg. He was sent to the nearest hospital for treatment. Where he is undergoing treatment. All the four cow smugglers who were caught are residents of Ghazipur district.

At present, the police team is interrogating all four. The police is also trying to find out since when these four have been involved in cow smuggling.
