Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned home after a three-day visit to Brunei and Singapore. Both of his visits were very important in terms of India’s Act East Policy.

PM Modi’s visit to Brunei was seen as an important step to strengthen trade, cultural and strategic relations between the two countries. PM Modi was warmly welcomed by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei. Extensive discussions were held between the two leaders, in which special emphasis was laid on economic cooperation, partnership in the energy sector and cultural exchange.

Delegation level talks were held between India and Brunei, during which several MoUs were signed. These include steps like starting a direct flight between Bandar Seri Begawan and Chennai. The Sultan of Brunei also hosted a lunch in the world’s largest palace ‘Istana Nurul Iman’ in honour of PM Modi.

PM Modi also interacted with the business community of Brunei, where he invited Brunei companies to invest under important programs like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’. During this, the issue of regional security and terrorism was also discussed between the two countries. Both the countries promised to work together and support each other on international forums.

What happened during PM Modi’s visit to Singapore?

Prime Minister Modi’s two-day visit to Singapore was very important in terms of bilateral relations. During this period, four agreements were signed between the two countries, including semiconductors.

India and Singapore signed important agreements in the field of semiconductors, digital technology, health and skill development. According to the agreement, both countries will focus on semiconductors, cluster development, semiconductor designing and manufacturing.

During this time, PM Modi held bilateral talks with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. PM ​​Modi also visited the Singapore Parliament, where he was given a grand welcome. Both the leaders agreed to further strengthen mutual trade and economic relations.

Modi’s offer to Singapore’s business leaders!

Prime Minister Modi met Singapore’s business leaders on Thursday during his visit to Singapore. During this, he invited Singapore’s businessmen to come to India. He said that whenever there is a discussion on paan in India, it is incomplete without Varanasi. During this, the PM said that I am an MP from Varanasi. If you want to enjoy eating paan, then you must invest in Varanasi.
