DUSU Election 2024 Date: The bugle for student union elections has sounded in Delhi University. Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections will be held on 27 September 2024. Delhi University has scheduled DUSU elections for the academic year 2024-25. Students can file their nominations for DUSU elections till 17 September. With the declaration of election results (DUSU Election Result Date) on Saturday, September 28, it will be clear who will sit on the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary this time.

Where should the nomination form be submitted?
For DUSU central panel elections, nomination papers must be submitted to the office of Chief Election Officer Satyapal Singh located in North Campus. To file the nomination, visit the address “Office of the Chief Election Officer, Conference Centre, Opposite Department of Botany (Gate No. 4) University of Delhi, North Campus, Delhi-110007”.

Last date for withdrawal of nomination
According to the DUSU election schedule released by DU, candidates who wish to withdraw their nominations can do so till 12 noon on September 18, the final list of contesting candidates will be published by 5 pm on the same day.

Preparations for the election begin
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Sunday announced its election committee for the upcoming Delhi University Students Union elections. This information has been given in an official statement. It has been said that the committee will take election related decisions including the selection of candidates. The statement said that ABVP Delhi President Tapan Bihari has been appointed as the chairman of the DUSU election committee and with the formation of the committee, discussions have started on the names of potential candidates.

Tapan Bihari Bihari said, ‘The election committee has started discussing the names of potential candidates for the DUSU elections. Like previous years, this year’s ‘DUSU in Campus’ campaign has received a positive response from students.’ He said the ABVP has consistently represented students over the years and stands firmly with them for their concerns and rights. ABVP Delhi secretary Harsh Atri said, ‘ABVP units in the university campus are actively engaging with students, sharing the work of the outgoing ABVP-led DUSU and seeking their feedback and suggestions for the upcoming manifesto.’

Delhi University Students’ Union 2023: Here are last year’s winners

Last year, the RSS-affiliated ABVP won three central panel posts, including the president’s post, while the Congress’ student wing NSUI bagged the vice-president’s post. The elections were held after a gap of three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ABVP had won three seats (president, secretary, joint secretary). The National Students Union of India (NSUI) had won the vice-president post in the 2023 DUSU elections. Tushar Dedha of ABVP was elected president, Abhi Dahiya of NSUI was elected vice-president, Aparajita of ABVP was elected secretary and Sachin Basla was elected joint secretary. The last DUSU elections before 2023 were held in 2019. Elections in 2020 and 2021 were not held due to COVID-19, while the 2022 elections could not be held due to potential disruptions in the academic calendar.
