Drake's Toronto Home Flooded Amid Fierce Storm

A severe storm that swept through Toronto on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, caused significant damage and flooding across the city. Among the properties affected was Drake’s mansion in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood. The renowned artist shared a video on his Instagram Story, showcasing the extent of the flooding, which reached at least one entire floor of his estate.

The storm, which shattered the city’s rainfall record dating back to 1941, was caused by the convergence of three distinct storm systems. This resulted in nearly four inches of rainfall in Toronto, according to Environment Canada. The intense rainfall has subsided, with no significant precipitation expected for the remainder of the day.

Drake’s reaction to the situation was light-hearted, as he humorously commented on the costly repairs needed due to the unprecedented heavy rainfall. He playfully remarked on the unusual color of the water, drawing a comparison to one of his favorite cocktails. In the video, Drake can be seen navigating the flooded area barefoot with a broom, while someone attempts to prevent water from entering another room.

The storm was particularly intense, with meteorologist Dave Phillips noting that the city received a quarter more rain in just three hours than it typically does throughout the entire month of July. Emergency services conducted multiple rescues and are currently evaluating the extent of damage to highways and properties resulting from the flooding.

Despite the challenges faced by Drake and the community, there is optimism that the situation will improve as the storm gradually recedes. Authorities are working to ensure the safety of all residents and assess the full impact of the flooding. This incident adds to the recent challenges faced by Drake, including the ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar, which has been a topic of much discussion in the music industry.
