Before they shared the Democratic ticket’s stage First United Rally in Philadelphia Last month, Amhoff had met Walz only once before. “Then I didn’t see him until that night in Philly when we jumped on stage,” Amhoff said. “And so we bond like backstage and we go in there and we just hug this big brother bear. And I can’t tell you how many texts I get from my real friends and real family members like, ‘You’ve never hugged me like that! what’s going on You literally just met this guy!”
was asked by Co-host Jon Lovett If he “slapped him on the back to keep your weirdness,” Amhoff replied, “No, if you watch the video, we accomplished this on Bro Hug.”
Amhoff even managed to get Walz to shout, “I’m going to sleep when I’m dead!” Explaining, “I will sleep on November 6, because I really want to enjoy the fruits of winning this election.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Amhoff hyped his wife’s first major debate Donald Trump Next week. As the person who has “discussed” her the most over the years, she said, “I haven’t won a single one.”
“I realize that if we’re talking about something, any really good lawyer will lay a few traps for you along the way,” Amhoff continued. “And when I’m going through this spousal discussion about something, I’ll say, ‘Oh… that’s what you’re doing!'”
