Double murder causes commotion in Delhi, accused absconded after killing wife and daughter

There was a stir in the country’s capital Delhi after a double murder. This murder took place in Narela area where a woman and her daughter were found dead. Regarding this incident, the police said that a man killed his 38-year-old wife and daughter on Saturday.

According to the news agency, the murder accused has been identified as Om Prakash, who lived in a separate house and came home to his wife and daughter on Saturday morning. The senior officer said, ‘At 9:05 am, a call was received at the NIA police station regarding a fight and police teams reached the spot.’

Police said Seema and her 16-year-old daughter were found unconscious in a room on the ground floor of the house. “They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead. Investigation revealed that Seema’s husband Omprakash had an illicit relationship with a woman named Bindu,” the officer said.

Police said that in the wee hours of Saturday, Omprakash came to Seema’s house and a quarrel broke out between them. In a fit of rage, Omprakash hit Seema and her daughter with an iron pan (tawa) and fled from the spot, the senior officer said.

The police officer said, ‘During the investigation, we found that Omprakash’s daughter had lodged an FIR against him under the POCSO Act and other sections of the Indian Penal Code, which was under investigation. Bindu had also lodged an FIR against Seema.’

Police said that initial investigation revealed that Omprakash had come to meet his daughter and wife regarding the case filed by his daughter under the POCSO Act. He wanted his daughter to withdraw the case.

The officer said, ‘Crime team and forensic teams were called to the spot. Several teams have been formed and efforts are being made to arrest Omprakash.’ Let us tell you that Seema used to run a grocery shop while her daughter was a student of class 9.
