Ahead of the US presidential election on November 5, 2024, Republican Party candidate Donald Trump has returned to social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Trump posted a campaign video on the social media platform ahead of a live interview with X owner Elon Musk. Musk had announced that he would have a live conversation with Donald Trump on X on August 12 at 8 pm US time. He said that this conversation would be unscripted and the issues would not be fixed, so this live session with Trump can be expected to be entertaining.
According to a report by news agency The Associated Press, before his conversation with Trump, Elon Musk posted on X that some system scaling tests are being done to avoid any technical disruption due to the expected large number of participants. Let us tell you that a few days after Elon Musk took over X, he ordered the ban on Donald Trump to be lifted, after which his account was restored. However, Donald Trump has posted on this platform after a long time. Trump’s last post on X was on August 24, 2023.

Let us tell you that after the US Capitol violence in 2021, Trump’s Twitter account was permanently banned, which is now known as X after Musk’s acquisition. Donald Trump then launched his own social media platform called Truth Social. Even after the account was restored last year, Trump was not that active on this social media platform and used Truth Social for his posts. After the suspension of the account was lifted, Trump made his first post on X in August 2023, in which he shared a picture of a mugshot, on which ‘Election Interference Never Surrender’ was written.
