Diplomatic talks took place between India and China on the situation of LAC, the current situation was reviewed

India and China held ‘diplomatic talks’ on Wednesday to resolve the ongoing border deadlock on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The talks took place in Delhi under the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC). The Ministry of External Affairs said that both sides reviewed the current situation on the Line of Actual Control with an aim to find an early solution to the pending issues.

What did the Foreign Ministry say

Giving information about this meeting, the Ministry of External Affairs said, ‘Both sides reviewed the current situation on the LAC with the aim of finding an early solution to the pending issues.’ The Ministry of External Affairs said that the restoration of peace and harmony and respect for the LAC is an essential basis for the restoration of normalcy in bilateral relations.

The two sides agreed on the need to jointly maintain peace and stability on the ground in the border areas in accordance with relevant bilateral agreements, protocols and consensus between the governments. The ministry said the discussions at the meeting were in-depth, constructive and visionary. The two sides agreed to maintain dialogue through established diplomatic and military channels.

Let us tell you that in the recent Quad meeting, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had discussed India-China relations. He had said that both the countries will have to find a solution. Jaishankar had said that India-China relations are not good and there is a problem between us. But he also said that there is no need for intervention of any third country to resolve the ongoing dispute between India and China. Both the countries should find the solution together.
