Didi’s bullying… Has Mamata Banerjee got into trouble by writing a letter to Modi and posting on Jai Shah?

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is deeply entangled in the allegations of police whitewashing in the Kolkata rape and murder case. Didi, who has been a street fighter in Bengal politics, is trying her best to hide her government’s negligence in the Kolkata rape case. But even her supporters agree that it is difficult to estimate the damage that will be caused to her image. In the last 24 hours, she has made similar allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, but very soon her lies have been exposed.

1- How true is the matter of not getting a reply from PM

Mamata, who is facing a lot of criticism in Bengal on the rape and murder of a trainee doctor, has once again written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the letter, she wrote that you will remember my letter written on 22nd August, in which the need for making strict laws regarding the increasing rape incidents was emphasized. But no reply was received from your side on this sensitive issue. However, a reply was received from the Ministry of Women and Child Development. But it is insufficient in view of the seriousness of the matter. I feel that not enough attention has been paid to the seriousness of this matter.

But the reality is something else. Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi has responded to the letter of the Chief Minister of West Bengal on 25 August 2024. The letter shows that the West Bengal government has not shown any interest in the POCSO Act and fast track courts. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Malviya writes that Mamata Banerjee in her letter has specifically mentioned that the West Bengal government has not set up a single fast track court to address rape and POCSO related cases.

But Malviya, while tweeting Annapurna Devi’s letter, has said that the government had planned to set up fast track special courts on a 60:40 sharing basis between the Center and the states. This scheme was started in October 2019 itself. By 30 June 2024, 752 fast track courts, including 409 exclusive POCSO courts, have been started in 30 states and union territories. These courts disposed of more than 2,53,000 cases. Under the scheme, a total of 123 FTSCs were allotted to the state of West Bengal, including 20 exclusive POCSO courts and 103 joint FTSCs. But the Bengal government could not start any of these courts by June 2023. The state of West Bengal had expressed its willingness to participate in the scheme through a letter dated June 2023, expressing a commitment to start 7 FTSCs. Later, 17 FTSCs were allotted to West Bengal, but only 6 dedicated POCSO courts have become operational as of 30 June 2024. Despite 48,600 rape and POCSO cases pending in West Bengal, the state government has not taken any steps to start the remaining 11 FTSCs.

2- Mamta got trapped by raising questions on Jai Shah

To target Home Minister Amit Shah, Mamata Banerjee took the help of her social media handle ‘X’. Taking a jibe at Jay Shah becoming the ICC President, Mamata Banerjee wrote a post on social media that ‘Congratulations Home Minister, your son did not become a leader, but became the ICC Chairman. This is a much bigger and important post than most politicians. Your son has indeed become very powerful and I congratulate you on this supreme achievement of his.’

But Mamata Banerjee’s allegation soon lost its steam. Making this allegation proved costly for her. Actually, Mamata Banerjee’s two brothers are the heads of many sports organizations. This was revealed by Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari. He counted all the names of Mamata’s family one by one and told how the CM’s family has control over many sports organizations. Suvendu also writes in the same style as Mamata that congratulations, unsuccessful Chief Minister, Home Minister and Health Minister of West Bengal!!!

Your brother did not become a politician but he did:

Ajit Banerjee (Sixth)

President of the Indian Football Association (the governing body of football in Bengal)

Babun Banerjee (Swapna)

President- Bengal Olympic Association
Ground Secretary – Mohun Bagan Football Club
President – West Bengal Hockey Association
President – West Bengal State Table Tennis Association
President – West Bengal Amateur Boxing Association
President-West Bengal Kabaddi Association
These lucrative sports administration positions are sought after by many politicians!! Your brother has indeed become very powerful and I really congratulate you on his achievements!
Congrats!!

Mamata Banerjee has 6 brothers, out of which two brothers Ajit Banerjee and Babun Banerjee are associated with sports associations. Babun’s stature in the world of sports kept on increasing after Mamata became the CM and he is now a well-known name in the world of sports in West Bengal.

3- Is Mamata inspired by Rahul Gandhi?

It is said that those who have a glass house do not throw stones at others’ houses, but a trend contrary to this is gaining momentum in politics these days. Recently, Rahul Gandhi has made such statements on many occasions which are applicable to him or the Congress, but he has been blaming others. Whether it is about eating the budget halwa or the participation of backward and Dalit officers in the secretariats of the central government. Rahul knows that neither was this possible in the UPA government, nor can he get it done in Karnataka and Himachal. Still, he keeps talking about caste census. In the Telangana assembly elections, he appealed to remove the family of BSP chief Chandrashekhar from power due to dynastic politics. Who does not know that the Gandhi family is the biggest example of dynasty in the country. It is clear that by saying such things, Rahul Gandhi has been successful in making his presence felt among the public. Mamata Banerjee is also on the same path now. She also feels that her agenda can be set only by lying against the BJP.
