‘Didi has sent me…’ A man was seen threatening in the name of CM in RG Kar Hospital, old video goes viral

In a video going viral from RG Hospital, a man is seen threateningly saying ‘You can call CM Didi’. This video is from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, where an additional security guard named Afsar Ali Khan was caught on camera saying this. In this video, Khan, who works as a bouncer there, is seen taking the name of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He is also seen saying that ‘Didi’ has sent him.

The video, which is about a year old, has once again gone viral on social media. The video highlights the problems prevailing at RG Kar Hospital, where the rape and murder of a trainee doctor on August 9 sparked nationwide outrage.

In the video, former principal Manas Kumar Bandyopadhyay and other senior officials can be seen questioning Khan. Khan is being asked why he does not come to work regularly and why he does not wear the security guard uniform? In response, Ali Khan says that he has been sent by ‘CM Didi’ and has no right to ask questions about his uniform or duty.

Ali Khan has been identified by the staff of RG Kar Hospital as Afsar Ali Khan, who is reportedly close to a Trinamool Congress MLA and former principal of the college, Sandip Ghosh. After this incident, questions are being raised whether Afsar Ali Khan’s presence in the hospital premises was for the safety of the doctors or to intimidate them?

After the video went viral, hospital officials said that Ali Khan had also participated in many wrong activities related to the hospital. This also includes illegally selling biomedical waste to a Bangladeshi citizen.

After this video surfaced, questions have been raised about the security system and the role of the officials in the hospital. Especially, at a time when the heinous crime against a female doctor has shaken the whole country and protests are continuing over it.
