Did Iran hack into the US presidential election? Donald Trump’s website was hacked

Former US President Donald Trump’s campaign website was hacked. The Trump campaign has claimed without any evidence that Iran was behind this, whose intention was to ‘interfere in the 2024 elections and spread political chaos.’ This statement from the Republican Party came after a local media organization revealed it. The media organization said that in the month of July, the institute was offered intelligence documents against Trump from unknown sources.

Donald Trump’s campaign claimed about the documents, “These documents were illegally obtained from foreign sources against the United States, with the aim of interfering in the 2024 elections and spreading chaos in our political process.”

An American media organization Politico had claimed that in July, the organization was offered some documents about Trump’s internal operations from unknown sources. The organization claimed that documents were also offered against vice presidential candidate JD Vance.

Donald Trump also accused Iran

Donald Trump claimed on his Truth Social on Sunday that Microsoft had informed his campaign that one of his websites was hacked by Iran. He blamed Iran and said that he had only obtained public information. However, he did not give much information about the hack.

Microsoft denies disclosure of target

The Trump campaign cited a report by Microsoft researchers on Friday that said hackers linked to the Iranian government attempted to break into the account of a “high-ranking official” of the US presidential campaign in June. The report said the hackers had infiltrated the account of a former political adviser and then used it to target the official.

The Microsoft researchers’ report also did not specify the target. Microsoft has also refused to disclose the target. Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations rejected the allegations made by Trump and his campaign and said, “The Iranian government has neither any intention nor any purpose to interfere in the US presidential election.”
