Dengue Epidemic Disease: Karnataka: If mosquitoes are seen near the house, this much fine will be imposed, dengue has been declared an epidemic

In view of the increasing threat of dengue, the Karnataka government has issued a notification and declared it an epidemic. In view of this, the Karnataka government has amended the ‘Epidemic Disease Regulations 2020’. According to the amended rules, the owners of land, buildings or buildings will have to take necessary steps to prevent mosquitoes from breeding in water tanks, parks or play grounds. A provision has also been made for fines on those who ignore these rules.

The authorized officer of any area will have the power to impose a fixed fine or penalty for violation of the rules. If dengue-spreading mosquitoes are found inside or around a house, then its owner will be fined Rs 400 (urban areas) and Rs 200 (rural areas). The purpose of these rules is to control dengue fever caused by mosquitoes in urban and rural areas of the state.

If dengue mosquitoes are found inside or near commercial areas such as schools, colleges, offices, hotels, cinema theatres or supermarkets, a higher fine will have to be paid. The fine for commercial buildings has been fixed at Rs 1000 (urban areas) and Rs 500 (rural areas). While the owners of active construction sites (active commercial sites) or vacant spaces will have to pay a fine of Rs 1000 in both urban and rural areas.

How to prevent dengue
To avoid dengue mosquitoes, use mosquito repellents and mosquito nets as much as possible. Close the doors and windows of your house before evening. Wear full sleeve clothes to cover the body completely. Make sure that water does not collect around. Keep changing the water in the cooler. Keep the water covered. Change the water of outside birds or pets regularly.

What is the treatment for dengue?
There is no specific medicine for the treatment of dengue. You should take a lot of rest during dengue fever. Get your blood platelets checked regularly. Do not let the body get dehydrated and take plenty of liquid diet. It is best to drink coconut water at this time. It also helps in increasing platelets. Apart from this, include giloy, papaya, kiwi, pomegranate, beetroot and green vegetables in your diet. Stay in touch with the doctor and keep giving him information about your platelets. In case of any problem or drop in platelets, the doctor may also advise you to get admitted to the hospital.
