Nishikant Dubey , Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Jharkhand Nishikant Dubey on Thursday claimed in the Lok Sabha that the number of Muslims in the state is increasing rapidly. The BJP MP demanded the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state.NRCHe also demanded that Malda and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal be made Union Territories. During Zero Hour in the Lower House, the MP from Godda said that the population of the tribal community in Jharkhand has decreased by 10 percent and tribal women are marrying Muslim youths. He alleged that the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government is not taking any steps to stop the declining tribal population in the state.
Asked- where did ten percent tribals disappear?
The BJP MP said that all the opposition leaders are saying the same thing today that the Constitution is in danger. However, the truth is something else. It is not the Constitution but the politics of some people that is in danger. When Jharkhand was separated from Bihar and became a separate state, the number of tribals in the Santhal Pargana region was 36 percent in 2000 which is 26 percent today. He asked where did 10 percent of the tribals disappear? This subject is never discussed in this House, only vote bank politics takes place.
Our population has increased by 123 percent – Nishikant
He said that everywhere the number of voters increases by 15-17 percent every five years but in our place, the population has increased by 123 percent. In Madhupur assembly constituency which comes under my Lok Sabha constituency, the population of Muslims has increased by 117 percent in about 267 booths. There are 25 such assembly seats in Jharkhand where the population has increased by 123 percent, 110 percent, this is a matter of concern.
Malda-Murshidabad became Union Territory
He said that there was a riot in Taranagar Ilami, Dangapada in Pakur district. The riot happened because Mamta Banerjee’s police from Bengal and people from Malda, Murshidabad are coming and driving away our people. Hindu villages are getting empty. He further said that ‘I am saying this on record and it is a serious matter. If my statement is wrong then I will resign. People from Malda and Murshidabad of Bengal came and tortured the Hindus. Jharkhand Police is not able to do any work. He further said that people from entire Malda, Murshidabad, Araria, Katihar, Kishanganj came and tortured the Hindus. I demand the Government of India to intervene in this matter and make these areas Union Territory.
