The NCW has recently taken suo motu cognizance of the matter and lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police. Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the case. Smriti Singh received the Kirti Chakra awarded posthumously to her late husband Captain Anshuman Singh on July 5.
Let us tell you, a user made a lewd comment, calling himself Ahmed. His identity is being confirmed. This comment was made on the photo of Smriti receiving the award at Rashtrapati Bhavan. In response, the National Commission for Women took cognizance of the matter and sought police action for this. Sources say that an FIR has been registered under BNS.
