Delhi Police Inspector Lalit Mohan Negi, who did 47 encounters including 10 terrorists, retired, know how was his service journey

ACP Lalit Mohan Negi, encounter specialist of Delhi Police’s Special Cell, has retired. During his service period, he did a total of 47 encounters including 10 Pakistani terrorists and became a super cop. Lalit Mohan Negi’s team played an important role in solving the Parliament attack case, dismantling the network of terrorist organization Indian Mujahideen and arresting all the accused involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case.

Encounter specialist Lalit Mohan Negi posted in the Special Cell retired on 31 August.

Why is Lalit Mohan Negi in the news?

  • If any miscreant in Delhi Police tries to challenge the law and order of the national capital, then the policeman is ACP Lalit Mohan Negi.
  • Lalit Mohan Negi killed 47 criminals including 10 Pakistani terrorists in an encounter.
  • Lalit Mohan Negi is originally from Uttarakhand. He joined Delhi as a sub-inspector on June 26, 1989 and kept getting out of turn promotions due to his exceptional work. He was also posted as ACP in the Special Cell.
  • When the Parliament House was attacked in 2001, Lalit Mohan Negi was part of the team that solved the case. He played an important role in preparing the charge sheet of the case, which resulted in the hanging of Afzal Guru.
  • Bomb blasts were happening continuously in markets and inside trains in Delhi, Mumbai, Banaras and Bangalore. Later it was revealed that the terrorist organization Indian Mujahideen was behind these attacks. After this, Lalit Mohan Negi organized a team of Special Cell along with his colleague Inspector Hriday Bhushan and arrested wanted terrorists of Indian Mujahideen from across the country one by one.
  • Delhi’s Jama Masjid blast case, Bangalore’s Chinnaswamy Stadium bomb blast case and Mumbai’s 7/11 blast case were solved by Lalit Mohan Negi and his team and the terrorists involved in the blasts were arrested. Bihar’s Darbhanga module was also exposed by his team.

Cases related to Mukhtar Ansari, Chota Shakeel and Brijesh Singh

  • Lalit Mohan Negi also worked in the intelligence agency RAW. Negi and his team also took action against many big criminals of the underworld. Along with this, many henchmen of Chota Shakeel were arrested.
  • Uttar Pradesh’s mafia don Mukhtar Ansari was arrested from Delhi. UP’s mafia don Brijesh Singh, who had been underground for decades, was arrested from Orissa after months of operation.
  • There are some operations in the name of Lalit Mohan Negi, which were carried out outside the country and never came out on record.
  • Lalit Mohan Negi has retired but due to his strong networking and his courage, the government has decided to keep him posted as an advisor in Delhi Police for one year, that is, Lalit Mohan Negi will continue to provide his services even after retirement.

Lalit Mohan Negi has received 4 Police Medals for Gallantry. Agencies like IB, RAW and CBI have praised his work. He has also received many bravery awards.
