Delhi Police beefs up security at Israeli embassy after intelligence alert

Delhi Police has increased security of the Israeli Embassy and Chabad House after receiving an alert from intelligence agencies following the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya in Tehran. On July 31, Ismail Haniya and his bodyguard were killed by the Israeli army in an airstrike in Tehran.

According to sources, after receiving the intelligence alert, Delhi Police officials have held a meeting to plan comprehensive security around both the Israeli buildings in the national capital. Multi-layered security was already implemented by installing several CCTV cameras around both the buildings.

A police officer said that more policemen can be deployed if needed. Delhi Police had to issue a clarification after a bomb blast rumour was posted on X. Police said that it was a fake call. However, the post was later removed.

In the last three years, two low-intensity explosions have taken place near the Israeli Embassy in the national capital. No one was injured in both the attacks. Security around the Israeli Embassy was increased after the war between Israel and Hamas broke out last year. It has been made foolproof.

Let us tell you that the entire house in Iran’s capital Tehran, where Hamas chief Ismail Haniyya was staying as a guest, was razed to the ground on the night of 30 and 31 July. Along with Haniyya, one of his security guards was also killed in this attack.

This attack took place in a densely populated residential area of ​​Tehran and the precision with which it was carried out has shocked the world. This method is being considered a sign of Israel’s inputs about the Haniya and its dangerous power to strike.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, i.e. the Iranian army, is also confused about this attack. It has said that the method of attack is not clear at the moment and it is being investigated. In fact, Haniya was living in Qatar since the terrorist attack on Israel on 7 October.
