On the last day of nomination for the elections of Ward Committee and Standing Committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation MCD, candidates of Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress filed nominations. For the ward committee elections of Delhi Municipal Corporation, Aam Aadmi Party has fielded its candidates in 11 zone committees.
Aam Aadmi Party has filed nominations for the election of chairman, deputy chairman of 11 zone committees as well as members of the standing committee. AAP leader of the house Mukesh Goyal has claimed that most of the candidates of Aam Aadmi Party will win in the elections of 11 zone committees.
BJP did not field candidates in two zones
The Bharatiya Janata Party has filed nominations for chairman, deputy chairman and permanent committee member in the zone committee elections of Delhi Municipal Corporation. Due to less numbers, BJP has not fielded its candidate in SP City Zone and Karol Bagh Zone.
BJP is contesting elections in 10 zones
Leader of Opposition in Delhi Municipal Corporation Raja Iqbal Singh said that BJP has filed nominations for the posts of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Standing Committee members in 10 out of the 12 zones of Delhi Municipal Corporation. BJP will register its victory in 10 zones.
Congress fielded candidates in only one zone
Congress has also fielded its candidates in the ward committee elections of Delhi Municipal Corporation. Due to less numbers, Congress has filed nominations only for the post of chairman, deputy chairman and standing committee member in Shahdara North Zone Committee elections. On behalf of Congress, Zarif has filed nomination for the post of chairman, Nazia for the post of deputy chairman and Sabla Begum for the post of temporary committee member.
