Flooding in Delhi IAS coaching centre: After the incident at an IAS coaching centre in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, students are furious. Students are continuously protesting demanding action against the culprits. On Sunday afternoon, hundreds of students preparing for IAS in Delhi reached Karol Bagh metro station and gheraoed it. During this, the students completely blocked the road below Drishti IAS and stopped one-way traffic. The police is having a tough time convincing the students.

At the same time, in view of the students’ protest, heavy police force has been deployed and many top officials have also reached the spot. Officials said that mild force was used to remove the students from the road and some students have also been detained.

students are constantly shouting slogans

There is anger among the students after the death of three friends. The protesting students are continuously raising slogans against the MCD officials. The students are demanding action by raising slogans of ‘We want justice’. The students are asking who will take responsibility for this incident? A student said, three students died due to the negligence of the institute. But the MCD is calling this incident a natural disaster. We demand that the director of the institute should come forward and give a statement. Also, the accountability of the MCD employees should be fixed for the incident and the families of the deceased should get a compensation of five crores.

Swati Maliwal met the students

At the same time, Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal met the protesting students. She reached Old Rajendra Nagar. Swati Maliwal questioned the government regarding the death of the students. She said, the death of three students is not an accident, but it is a murder. An FIR should be registered in this. Also, accountability should be fixed from the minister to the mayor regarding the incident. She said, students from every corner of the country come to Delhi with the dream of becoming something, but they lose their lives due to drowning in water. The families of the deceased children should be given a compensation of one crore. Big ministers hold press conferences sitting in AC rooms. But, even after 12 hours of the incident, no minister of the government has come here. They should apologize to the children for this incident.

Death was caused by water filling in the basement

Let us tell you that it rained in Delhi on Saturday evening. After the rain, the basement of a coaching institute located in Rajendra Nagar area got flooded. Many students were present in the basement, some of whom came out. But, three students preparing for UPSC died due to waterlogging. Two girl students are also among the dead. According to officials, the basement was filled with so much water that it took about 7 hours for the NDRF to finish the rescue operation.

Police used mild force

DCP Central M Harsh Vardhan said that since yesterday evening we have been continuously engaged in rescue work. We understand the sentiments of the students. We allowed them to protest and also assured them that I will raise their demands before the concerned agencies. We requested them to end their protest but when they blocked the Pusa Road, we used mild force to disperse them. We do not want to file any case against them or cause any harm to them as it may affect their career.
