After the incident at RAU’s IAS coaching centre in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi Police and Delhi Municipal Corporation are continuously taking action. So far 19 centres have been sealed. Giving information about this action, Delhi Mayor Shaili Oberoi said that MCD has started its action and today a sealing drive has been carried out in Rajendra Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar. She informed that in this case, JE has been terminated and AE has been suspended. Along with this, instructions have been given to take action against coaching centres running in Delhi without taking permission from the Municipal Corporation.
What did Mayor Shelly Oberoi say?
Shaili Oberoi said that after getting information about the incident, I wrote a letter to the MCD Commissioner and asked him to take action against illegal coaching institutes. I also asked him to take action against the officials responsible for this accident. Shaili said that on Sunday, 13 illegal institutes were sealed in Rajendra Nagar by conducting a sealing drive. On Monday also, 6 coaching institutes were sealed under the sealing drive.
The mayor said that in the emergency meeting of the officials of MCD, Water Board and PWD, instructions have been given to take action against such illegal institutions running all over Delhi. He said that strict action will be taken against any officer found responsible in this matter.
Action was taken on these institutions on Monday
1- Drishti IAS Institute. Plot area (1200 sqm)
2. Vaji Ram IAS Institute (700 sqm)
3- Vajiram and Ravi Institute (700 sqm).
4. Vajiram and IAS Hub (1200 sqm)
5. Shriram IAS Institute (700 sqm)
Action taken on illegal encroachment
Taking action, MCD sealed 5 properties including basements of coaching centres in Old Rajendra Nagar, Karol Bagh and one property in Civil Lines Zone. Along with this, illegal encroachments were removed outside coaching centres in Old Rajendra Nagar, Karol Bagh Zone. Apart from this, MCD is also conducting a survey to identify coaching centres and other properties violating rules in basements in all zones.

In the South Zone, 60 libraries and 8 coaching institutes have been issued notices for violating rules. The MCD is also conducting a survey to identify coaching centres and other properties violating rules in basements in all zones.
Action took place in Mukherjee Nagar
On Monday, MCD sealed the coaching centre Drishti (The Vision) located in Nehru Vihar. MCD said that during the survey, coaching was found going on in the combined basement of Tower No. 1, 2 and 3 located in Nehru Vihar, Delhi, which has been sealed. While telling about its action, the corporation said that MCD has sealed Drishti Vision IAS for violating the building rules of using the basement for coaching/teaching purpose.

Action also took place on Sunday
Earlier on Sunday, the Delhi Municipal Corporation had sealed 13 coaching centres running illegally in basements. Also, notices were pasted on the coaching centres.
MCD officials visited many coaching centres in Rajendra Nagar area and took action after investigation. Mayor Shaili Oberoi, while giving information about the action, said that MCD has started the process of sealing all the coaching centres in Rajendra Nagar which are being run in violation of rules in the basement and if needed, this campaign will be run in the whole of Delhi.
Let us tell you that three students died due to sudden flooding in the basement of a coaching institute in Rajendra Nagar. After this accident, special action is being taken on basement activities and illegal activities are being sealed.
