The High Court said that under the fundamental right to fair trial and effective legal representation, two additional legal meetings with the lawyer through video conferencing in a week are allowed as long as the accused is in jail.
Custody extended in excise case
Meanwhile, another Delhi court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Kejriwal in money laundering and corruption cases related to the alleged excise scam. Special Judge Kaveri Baveja extended the custody of Chief Minister Kejriwal till July 31 in the money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), while his judicial custody has been extended till August 8 in a corruption case registered by the CBI.
