Delhi: Basement wall of an under construction building collapsed in Dwarka, one woman died, 9 people injured

A major accident took place in Delhi’s Dwarka area on Thursday. The basement wall of a hospital building under construction collapsed here. According to information, a woman died and 9 people were injured in this accident. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started rescue operations.

The body has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem and the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The deceased has been identified as Namli Devi (30), wife of Santosh. The deceased is said to be a resident of Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.

The basement wall of the building collapsed

According to the information received from Delhi Police, a crime team has been formed to investigate the incident spot and a case has been registered. Police and crime team are inspecting the spot. Also, police is investigating whether any negligence was committed in this work.

According to the police, on Thursday evening, two policemen posted at Dwarka North police station, Suresh and Dilraj, were patrolling near the petrol pump in Dwarka Sector 12. During that time, they saw that a large crowd had gathered near the basement of the under-construction building of Aakash Hospital.

One woman died and 9 were injured

On reaching there, they found that the north-east wall of the basement under construction had collapsed. After the incident, the workers did not inform the police and fire department about the incident and were themselves removing the injured people trapped in the debris.
