Delhi: 2 minors rescued from GB Road, were being made sex workers by changing their Aadhar cards

Delhi Police has rescued two minor girls from GB Road (Red Light Area). In this case, the police has arrested one person on charges of trafficking and one person on charges of tampering with documents. Along with this, an investigation has been started to break this entire nexus.

Police said that the all women police post, Shraddhanand Marg, with a mission to ensure safety of women and children, during checking recovered a mobile phone of the accused, six photocopies of Aadhaar card, one PAN card as well as 14 passport size photographs of several men and women.

‘Work was being done by telling that he was an adult’

According to the police, on the night of 16th and 17th July, during routine checking, Central District Police found two girls working in the red light area on the top floor of brothel number 59. Both these girls were being made to work by claiming to be adults. The team got suspicious after seeing the height and build of both the girls and when asked, they could not answer the team. Investigation revealed that both the girls are minors of 17 years. After this, both the girls were brought from the red light area and an NGO counselor was called and then both were given a shelter home.

‘Victims’ statements recorded’

Police also said that during counselling it was revealed that Kiran had come with Devi a year ago and she had met them through Rishi and Sanjay. After counselling on July 18, statements of both the victims were recorded after medical examination at Loknayak Hospital.

‘Aadhaar card tampered with’

During the investigation, it was found that an accused Lala Ram alias Sunil, who lives in Malka Ganj Road, Sabzi Mandi area, had helped minor girls to tamper with their Aadhaar cards to make them look like adults. After this, the Kamala Market police station arrested the accused Lala Ram from his house on the information given by Kiran.

The police have recovered a mobile phone, a Samsung notebook along with six photocopies of Aadhaar cards, a PAN card and 14 passport size photographs of various men and women from the accused. The police have also started an investigation to break this entire nexus.

It is worth noting that the PP Shraddhanand Marg police station had earlier rescued a minor on July 12. And now action has been taken under due legal process under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act. An order for eviction and sealing has been received in the building where the minor was found. This will act as a deterrent for persons involved in such activities.
