Debate between Rahul Gandhi and Anurag Thakur… Caste has become the center of discussion from Parliament to the streets

The debate on caste is going on in the Parliament. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi protested against Anurag Thakur’s statement of ‘those whose caste is not known’. However, the presiding officer Jagdambika Pal said that caste statements should be removed from the record of Lok Sabha proceedings. The statement may have been removed from the proceedings but it got printed on politics. After this, people again started discussing Rahul Gandhi’s statement of being a Kaul Brahmin of Dattatreya gotra. It was calculated why Rahul Gandhi was hurt by this. However, whether it is the Congress leaders or Rahul Gandhi himself, everyone said in one voice that he will get the caste census done, no matter how much abuse he has to face on the issue of caste.

Rahul Gandhi’s great grandfather, the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was from a Kashmiri Pandit family. Everyone knows about his family tree. Pandit Nehru’s daughter and Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother Indira Gandhi married a Parsi politician Feroze Jahangir Gandhi. Indira Gandhi’s son and Rahul’s father and former Prime Minister of the country Rajiv Gandhi married Sonia Gandhi of Christian religion. During the last elections, Rahul Gandhi also wore Janeu or Yajnopaveet while worshiping in the temple, which was visible to everyone. At the same time, when BJP raised questions about Rahul Gandhi’s caste and religion, Congress had replied that Rahul Gandhi is a Kaul Brahmin of Dattatreya gotra.

The issue of caste dominated from the streets to the Parliament. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also took this debate forward and said, ‘All this happened in the Lok Sabha and the non-biological Prime Minister did not say anything.’ At the same time, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that ‘Socio-economic caste census is the demand of 80 percent of the people of this country, but it was said in Parliament that those who do not know their caste talk about census.’

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinet went even further and calling Anurag Thakur ‘Anurag Goli Maaro Thakur’, said that I am not interested in knowing your caste. Shrinet said that you want to know the caste of Rahul Gandhi, whose great grandfather was in jail for nine and a half years during the war of independence of this country? Whose grandfather spent his whole life for this country? Whose grandmother and father sacrificed their lives for this country? Whose mother is dedicated to this country despite hearing the allegations? And Rahul Gandhi himself? You neither have the moral status nor the stature to stand in front of him.

If you want to know Rahul Gandhi’s caste, go and ask Ramchet Mochi, ask Rameshwar the vegetable seller, ask Nirbhaya’s mother, ask Hathras’ Gudiya’s family, ask the families of martyred Agniveers, ask millions of Dalits, deprived, tribals, backward people for whose rights he is fighting. Take Rahul Gandhi’s name on the streets and see how this country showers love on its son, its brother.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized the Congress. Criticizing, he said that these people always talk about caste. Do media personnel or security personnel or soldiers have any caste? Will Congress leaders ask about their caste too? Samajwadi leader and MP Akhilesh Yadav also said that he will never forget the day when his CM residence was washed with Gangajal after it was vacated. The government talks about going to the moon, Digital India, but in reality it does not want to come out of its prejudices regarding caste.

That is, while the opposition is adamant about caste census, the government is against it. But the center of the debate there as well as here is caste. It does not seem that any political party will want to come out of this caste cycle even in the coming elections.
