Deadpool and Wolverine: Did not do well on first Monday in India, maintained its dominance at the worldwide box office

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is being liked a lot in India. The film earned a great amount of Rs 65.95 crores at the Indian box office on its opening weekend. However, Monday was not a very special day for it. On the fourth day of its release, this MCU film could not earn even Rs 7 crore. But its tremendous business continues in foreign countries.

Deadpool and Wolverine are tired in India

‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, directed by Shawn Levy, earned Rs 21 crore on its opening day in India. On Saturday, its earnings increased to Rs 22.65 crore. While on Sunday it did a business of Rs 22.30 crore. If we look at the graph of earnings, its weekend has not been very great. While it was expected that there would be a huge jump in its earnings on Sunday. This simply means that even though the film is earning well, its trend is not very good.

According to Sacnilk’s report, on Monday, Marvel Cinematic Universe’s film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ did a business of only Rs 6.75 crore in India. Thus, the total collection of the film in India in four days has become Rs 72.70 crore. On Monday, the film’s audience occupancy also decreased to 14.85%, which was up to 40% during the weekend. It is still expected that its first week will pass well.

Compared to Hollywood films, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is performing better than ‘Godzilla x Kong’, the second big release of the year 2024. It earned Rs 6 crore on its first Monday and did a lifetime business of Rs 106.99 crore in theaters. Similarly, Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’, released last year, earned Rs 5.00 crore on its first Monday. The total collection of this film was Rs 110.30 crore in India.

continues to dominate the worldwide box office

There is no such film in the Indian box office that can give a tough competition to ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’. Currently, Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri’s ‘Bad News’ and a month old ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ are in theatres. Meanwhile, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ continues to dominate the worldwide box office. In four days, the earnings of this film have crossed Rs 4,400 crore worldwide. Shawn Levy’s film is continuously making records in the American market. According to reports, the film has earned more than 21.5 million dollars (Rs 180.02 crore) in America on Monday. It surpassed the 2016 film ‘Deadpool’, which earned 19.7 million dollars (Rs 164.9 crore) on its first Monday.
