‘Cow slaughter happens in Kerala, hence the tragedy in Wayanad’, controversial statement by BJP leader Gyandev Ahuja

Senior BJP leader Gyandev Ahuja’s statement has come out on the incident in Wayanad, Kerala. He says that cow slaughter happens in Kerala and this is the reason why such a tragedy happened there. He said that wherever cow slaughter happens, similar incidents will keep happening there. He said that incidents happen every day in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and cloud bursts happen but the situation is not like Wayanad.

On July 30, several landslides occurred in villages like Mundakkai, Choorlamala, and Meppadi in Wayanad district of Kerala. Till the time of writing this news, 358 people have been recovered in this incident. It is being told that 400 people are still missing, who are being searched. Additional DGP of Wayanad says that the rescue operation is still going on. Six teams are engaged in rescue, where five teams are in the land zone and one team is conducting search operations in the water zone.

‘Wherever there is cow slaughter, there will be tragedy’

Senior BJP leader Gyandev Ahuja said that if cow slaughter is not stopped in Kerala, a similar tragedy will occur. He said that such incidents have been happening there since 2018. He said that wherever cows are killed in India, such situations will arise there. Incidents also happen in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, but the situation is not like Wayanad.

Kerala government sought resources for rescue

The Kerala government has appealed to the Centre to send deep search radars to help in the rescue operation. One Jewar radar from the Northern Command and four Rico radars from the Tricolor Mountain Rescue Organisation, Delhi were airlifted to Wayanad on Saturday by an Air Force plane.

Rescue of one-four year old children

Amid the devastating reports, a rescue operation carried out by forest officials has attracted attention. According to reports, on Thursday, a team led by Kalpetta Range Forest Officer K Hasheesh undertook a dangerous trek into the forest to rescue a tribal family, rescuing four children aged between one and four years.
