Pak cook accused of molestation and harassment

Pakistani diplomat Cook: A case of indecent assault and harassment of a woman employed by a Pakistani national working as a cook at the residence of the Chargé d’Affaires at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi has come to light. According to News18, an FIR has been registered against the accused for allegedly molesting a domestic maid. The victim was hired as a domestic help at the residence of Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmed Waraich. The woman was staying in the servant quarters of the diplomat’s official residence at Tilak Marg in New Delhi.

Hussain was demanding sexual relations

The woman says that the 54-year-old accused Minhaj Hussain had been abusing her, demanding sex and making obscene gestures since he came to India in February. There was another attempt to molest her after which the woman reported the incident to Saad Ahmed. He quietly sent Hussain back to Pakistan on the pretext of Bakrid.

Woman ordered to leave job

After this, the Pakistani High Commission ordered the woman to leave her job and residence by June 30. After this, Hussain returned to India again and started working at Waraich. Troubled by the accused’s return, the woman filed a police complaint at Tilak Marg Police Station on June 28. Delhi Police registered an FIR against Hussain under Section 354 of the IPC (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty). Seeing the matter getting serious, Hussain was once again sent back to Pakistan by the embassy on June 30.
