Controversy over Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’, preparations to ban the film in Telangana

Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ is going to be released in theatres soon. Kangana has started promoting the film and the series of interviews has begun.

Meanwhile, such news is coming from Telangana which can become a cause of trouble for Kangana. According to the information, the Telangana government is considering banning Kangana’s film ‘Emergency’.

Because of this, Telangana can ban ’emergency’
Recently, Kangana’s film faced a lot of opposition in Punjab and Sikh organizations demanded to ban it. The allegation against the film is that it portrays the Sikh community historically incorrectly, which harms their image. Now a Sikh organization of Telangana has expressed its concerns about the film. After which the government is taking legal advice to ban the film.

According to the information, an 18-member delegation of Telangana Sikh Society, led by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur, met government advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir at the Secretariat and demanded a ban on the screening of ‘Emergency’. The delegation also submitted a representation and expressed its deep concern over the portrayal of the Sikh community in the film.

Accused of misrepresenting the image of Sikhs
The representatives of the organization have alleged that Kangana’s film shows Sikhs as ‘terrorists and anti-nationals’, and such portrayal of Sikhs ‘hurts sentiments’ and damages their image. In a press release, Shabbir said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has assured the leaders of the Sikh community that the state government is taking legal advice and is considering banning Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’.

Let us tell you, in ‘Emergency’, Kangana is playing the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. Apart from playing the lead role in the film, Kangana is also the producer and director of this film. Recently, Kangana had said in an interview that ‘in terms of showing the truth’ her film can be compared to the Oscar winning Hollywood film ‘Oppenheimer’. ‘Emergency’ will be released in theaters on 6 September.
