The Congress has made it clear that no MP will be given a ticket in the Haryana elections. At the same time, a statement has also come out regarding the tickets of the current MLAs.

In fact, while talking to journalists after the screening committee meeting on Wednesday, Congress’ Haryana in-charge Deepak Babaria said that 10-15 seats have been discussed, but it will take a few more days to take a final decision. Our list will be ready by Saturday. Applications are also being discussed. More than 2 thousand applications have been received. They will be discussed and then we will put those names in front of the chairman.

During this, Babaria said that the current Congress MPs will not be given tickets in the assembly elections. No current MP will be allowed to contest the assembly elections. If there is any urgent need, they will have to take permission from party president Kharge. The tickets of sitting MLAs will be cut only if there is anti-incumbency against them.

Setback for MPs wishing to contest elections

Let us tell you that the decision of not giving tickets to Congress MPs has shocked senior leaders like Shailja Kumari, Randeep Surjewala and Deepender Hooda. They will be asked to focus on campaigning instead of contesting elections on behalf of the party. According to experts, there are many MPs who were staking claim in the assembly elections this time. However, they have now got a big shock due to the decision taken by the party.

Voting will be held in one phase in Haryana

Voting will be held in a single phase for 90 seats of Haryana Assembly. Voting will be held on all 90 seats of Haryana on October 1 and the election results will come after counting of votes on October 4. The term of Haryana Assembly is going to end on November 3, 2024. The last assembly elections were held in October 2019. After the elections, the alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party and Jannayak Janata Party formed the state government. BJP has 40 seats, Congress has 31 and Independents/Others have 19 seats.
