Congress general secretary Sachin Pilot, who reached Lucknow, held a press conference and expressed his views on various issues ranging from the Kolkata incident to Bharat Bandh, UP by-elections and other issues. In the Kolkata doctor rape murder case, Pilot said that the government should take strict action on such incidents. Whether the rape is in Kolkata or elsewhere, no culprit should be spared.
Regarding the by-elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh, Sachin Pilot said that the Congress Party and the ‘India’ alliance will contest all the 10 seats and will win them. Also, regarding the by-elections to be held in the remaining four states, Pilot said that our alliance will win the elections in all the four states.
According to Pilot- NDA alliance will not win by-elections in any state. Bharatiya Janata Party talks of one nation and one election but it cannot hold simultaneous elections in four states.
Sachin Pilot told UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Akhilesh Yadav’s monsoon offer that the people of Uttar Pradesh suffer due to internal conflicts (of BJP). The public has to bear the brunt.
According to Pilot, BJP talks about corruption-free state but when their people do corruption, they do not investigate. BJP government itself is corrupt. If it investigates, it will expose itself. BJP government is only engaged in benefiting big businessmen, rest of the people are suffering.
On the other hand, Pilot said on Bharat Bandh- Bharat Bandh is not a political function. The central government is unable to protect the rights of Dalits. The central government has not been able to make its intentions clear regarding reservation. That is why people are on the streets.
