Railway's plan for 10,000 coaches

Railway’s plan for common man

10 thousand non-AC coaches: Railways has prepared a big plan to make the journey of common man comfortable in trains. Indian Railways has approved the plan to manufacture about 10,000 non-AC coaches in two years to meet the increasing demand. Indian Railways has approved the plan to manufacture 9,929 non-AC coaches in 2024-25 and 2025-26. Of these, 4,485 non-AC coaches will be manufactured in the current financial year 2024-25 and another 5,444 such coaches will be manufactured in the next year, i.e. 2025-26. General seating coaches will account for more than one-third of the total number of coaches to be manufactured.

10000 general coaches will be manufactured

This was also confirmed by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav today. He said that ‘2,500 general (train) coaches are being manufactured under a special campaign. More than 10,000 general coaches have been approved. This summer season, the Railways ran more than 10,000 special trains in view of the huge demand. We are working in a focused manner on services, safety and hygiene. The construction of 50 more Amrit Bharat trains has started. The process of manufacturing 150 more Amrit Bharat trains has also started. Last year 5300 km of new tracks were added, this year also more than 800 km of tracks have been added. The work of ‘Kavach’ is also being done at a fast pace.

Railway Minister said, do not do politics on railways

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that do not do politics on this. Railways has always been the mode of transport for the poorest of the poor people of the country. 10 thousand coaches of general coaches are being made. 50 more trains of Amrit Bharat will come. Railways has a family of 12 lakhs, do not demoralize them on social media or in the media. Railways is taking the most care of the lower class and low income people. Railways is the mode of transport for the most ordinary and poor people. Some people are doing politics on railways. 2.5 crore people travel by train daily. Some people are working to demoralize one crore railway employees. I would like to tell all the railway employees to unite and answer the negative people.

Signing of important MoUs

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu signed an important MoU at Rail Bhavan in Delhi. A CSR agreement was signed with Gati Shakti University (GSV) and Airbus under the Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Civil Aviation MoU. Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister of Railways, Electronics & IT and Information & Broadcasting, Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu along with CRB & CEO, Railway Board Jai Verma Sinha and Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti University Prof. Manoj Choudhary were present at the MoU signing ceremony at Rail Bhavan.

Amrit Bharat push pull trains started

Recently Indian Railways had launched two new Amrut Bharat Push Pull trains with non-AC coaches for the common man. With many passenger friendly features these new trains were a faster travel option for budget travellers with two locomotives at either end running at speeds up to 130 kmph. Railways have been launching new trains for better passenger comfort. These include Antyodaya and Deen Dayal to Tejas Express (AC Chair Car and Sleeper), Economy AC coach and Humsafar Express.

railway’s 100 day plan

Apart from this, the railways is also focusing on manufacturing energy-based train sets for faster travel. After Vande Bharat Express, Indian Railways is now manufacturing Vande Metro for short-distance intercity travel and Vande Bharat Sleeper trains for long-distance overnight premium travel. As a part of its 100-day agenda for railways, the Modi 3.0 government aims to roll out Vande Metro and Vande Bharat Sleeper train prototypes. While Vande Metro trains have been manufactured by RCF Kapurthala and ICF Chennai, Vande Bharat Sleeper is being manufactured by BEML. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had said last month that the Vande Bharat Sleeper train should be ready to hit the tracks for trials by August 15.
