CM Saini Exclusive: Was the date of Haryana elections changed under BJP’s pressure? CM Naib Saini responded to the opposition’s allegations

Political parties are busy preparing for the Haryana elections. Voting was to be held on October 1 in the state, however, the Election Commission later changed the date. The commission announced that voting will now be held on October 5 instead of 1. The counting date was also changed from October 4 to October 8. The Election Commission cited the festival as the reason behind the decision. The opposition is constantly attacking the ruling BJP over this. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has now responded to the opposition’s allegations.

In Aaj Tak’s new program ‘CM Sahab’, Anjana Om Kashyap had a special conversation with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. During this, he answered many questions frankly and targeted Congress fiercely. On the opposition’s allegations of changing the date of Haryana elections under pressure from BJP, CM Saini said that Congress never believed in democracy. How can we believe, their policies are not right. Congress has insulted democracy. They do not want people to vote. Our honorable president was worried that there are so many holidays. 29th September is Sunday, there is election on 1st October, so there is a holiday due to elections and there is a holiday on 2nd October. So people should not plan their tour. And our president was worried that the votes should not decrease.

He said that when they do not have any issue, they raise questions on everything. They have also raised questions in the recent Lok Sabha elections. A person like Rahul Gandhi sahab, whose family has been in power for 60-65 years. People from his family have been continuously becoming Prime Ministers. If that person, coming in the third generation, can pick up the constitution book and go among the people and lie that if Modi ji becomes the Prime Minister for the third time, the constitution will be in danger, it will be destroyed. They have spread such lies. Talk on issues. Do not talk about lies. They are creating confusion among the people by picking up the book of lies and spreading lies.

CM Saini said that Narendra Modi ji has run this country in accordance with the Constitution in the last 10 years. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji, the person who composed the Constitution, was not respected by the Congress. If anyone has given respect for the first time, it is Narendra Modi. He gave respect by developing his five places as Panchtirtha. How can he think that the Constitution will end?

The Election Commission had given this reason for changing the date

The Election Commission had said that the decision to change the date has been taken in view of the upcoming festival in Haryana. The decision was taken to respect both the voting rights and traditions of the Bishnoi community, who have been celebrating Asoj Amavasya festival for centuries in memory of their guru Jambeshwar. The Election Commission had received a memorandum from the National President of All India Bishnoi Mahasabha Bikaner, Rajasthan to change the date of Haryana Assembly elections.

He had said that families from Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana visit their ancestral village Mukam in Rajasthan on the ‘Amavas’ of the month of ‘Asoj’ for the annual festival in Bikaner in memory of Guru Jambheshwar. This year the festival is on October 2 and thousands of Bishnoi families living in Sirsa, Fatehabad and Hisar will travel to Rajasthan on this day, depriving them of their right to vote.

BJP-INLD had also demanded to change the date

BJP and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) had also demanded the Election Commission to change the date. Both the parties had requested the Commission in writing that the date of election (October 1) should be extended as this date is clashing with weekends, public holidays and religious festivals. According to them, there are Saturday and Sunday holidays on 29 and 30 September, and there will be a holiday again on October 2 due to Gandhi Jayanti. In such a situation, people can take advantage of the holidays and go out of their city, which can reduce the percentage of voting.

On the other hand, Congress, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) opposed the change of election date. These parties said that BJP is afraid of its possible defeat, hence it is demanding a change of date.

Voting will be held in a single phase in Haryana

Let us tell you that voting will be held in a single phase for 90 seats of Haryana Assembly. The Election Commission had earlier announced voting for Haryana on October 1. The results were to come on October 4. Along with this, the dates for elections were also announced in Jammu and Kashmir. Here too the results were to come on October 4. But now the commission has changed the dates.

The term of Haryana Assembly is going to end on 3 November 2024. The last assembly elections were held in October 2019. After the elections, the alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party and Jannayak Janata Party formed the state government and Manohar Lal Khattar became the Chief Minister. However, later the equations changed and the party made Nayab Singh Saini the Chief Minister.
