CM Saini Exclusive: Allegations of nepotism, Vinesh-Bajrang and MSP… what did CM Saini say on election challenges

Preparations for the assembly elections in Haryana are going on in full swing. On one hand, BJP leaders are busy in removing the resentment of the workers. On the other hand, Congress is in talks with the Aam Aadmi Party for an alliance. Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini is facing the challenge of saving his seat in this election.

There are many challenges. With Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joining the Congress, the opposition is in a strong position. There are allegations of nepotism and there is also the issue of guarantee on MSP for farmers. In Aaj Tak’s new show ‘CM Sahab’, Anjana Om Kashyap had a special conversation with Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini and asked questions about the electoral challenges.

CM Saini responded to the allegations of nepotism

CM Saini was asked that BJP says that we contest elections against nepotism and you give tickets only to families. In response, he said, ‘Who do you consider as nepotism. The nepotism is Rahul, Priyanka, Sonia Gandhi. I am a son of a poor family, I was made the Chief Minister of Haryana, a person who did not have any background was picked up from a poor house and made the Chief Minister. Could this have been imagined in Congress, could anyone have thought about it. If this thinking is possible then it is only in the Bharatiya Janata Party that the party will work to take forward the worker who works, who is moving ahead with honesty. This is possible only in the Bharatiya Janata Party.’

‘Congress is doing politics over Vinesh’

When asked, BJP was already surrounded on the issue of wrestlers and now both Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia have joined Congress, isn’t this a setback for BJP? CM Saini replied, ‘They are our players. They are the diamonds of our Haryana. They are the pride of our country. They are such people who have raised the name of India but Congress does politics.’

‘It is our duty to encourage the players’

He said, ‘This is unfortunate. There should be no politics. Today Hooda sahab also gives such a statement that if I had MLAs, I would have sent them to Rajya Sabha. Hooda sahab did not see it when our young players brought gold medals. He was in the government then, but it did not occur to him that he had to be sent to Rajya Sabha. He does politics.’

On the announcement of the award to Vinesh Phogat, he said, ‘If the morale of our young players is falling, then it is our duty to encourage our players and that is why I made this announcement. Our daughter is our pride. She has made India’s name shine in the world.’

What did CM Saini say on the issue of MSP?

On the issue of MSP for farmers, the Chief Minister said, ‘Our Haryana is considered the rice bowl. The maximum production of rice is done by the farmers of Haryana. Since this whole issue is related to the Centre. The Centre buys it, the price of Rs 2300 which increases every year, this time it is Rs 2300 per quintal. The government is working to buy it.’

He said, ‘We have also started e-mandi here. Along with e-mandi, if there is a delay of more than a week in the money reaching the farmer’s account, then the Haryana government also pays interest to him. This money reaches the farmer’s account directly.’
