CITROEN made a big bang! Launched coupe-style SUV BASALT at Rs 7.99 lakh, competing with Tata Curve

Citroen Basalt launch price and features: Frh car manufacturer Citroen has today officially launched its new coupe-style SUV Citroen Basalt for sale in the Indian market. Citroen has introduced this new SUV at a starting price of just Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With its launch, the company has also started its official booking. Its customers can book it through the company’s dealership and official website with a token amount of just Rs 11,001. Let us tell you that this is an introductory price which will be applicable only on vehicles booked till October 31. That is, in future the company can increase the price of this SUV.

How is Citroen Basalt:

Let us tell you that Basalt is inspired by the company’s C3 Aircross model. Its front face is quite similar to Aircross. However, it has a sloping roofline which gives it a coupe-body style. It has a newly designed alloy wheel, LED tail lamp and chunky dual-tone rear bumper. It has been introduced in 5 monotone color options which include Polar White, Steel Gray, Platinum Gray, Cosmo Blue and Garnet Red. Contrast black roof is also available with white and color options.

Power and performance:

The company has launched Basalt in the market with only two petrol engine options. In this SUV, the company has given a three-cylinder petrol engine of 1.2 liters capacity. Which generates 82hp power and 115Nm torque. At the same time, its turbo petrol engine generates 110hp power. This turbo engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and torque converter gearbox. At the same time, only 5-speed manual transmission option is available in the naturally aspirated engine.

Cabin and Features:

An attempt has been made to make the cabin of Basalt premium to a great extent. However, its dashboard is similar to the C3 Aircross. It has features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, three-spoke steering wheel, rear AC vents, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity.

The company has made some minor changes in it and introduced it with Basalt. It also has adjustable thigh support for the rear seat, which is being seen for the first time in the segment. The company claims that this car has a boot space of 470 liters.

If we look at it immediately, this SUV will directly compete with Tata Curve in the Indian market. The prices of which are going to be announced on 2 September. But Citroen has definitely put pressure on Tata Motors by launching this SUV at a very affordable price. Let us tell you that at present, Tata Nexon, which is Tata’s second most affordable SUV, its price starts from Rs 7.99 lakh.
