Now no submarine or ship of China or Pakistan will be able to enter the sea secretly. America has made a deal to give Anti-Submarine Warfare Sonobuoys (ASW Sonobuoys) to India. This deal is worth 52.8 million dollars i.e. more than Rs 442 crore. Let us know what these ASW Sonobuoys are.

How are they released…
These can be dropped underwater from MH-60R Romeo helicopter, MQ-9B Sea Guardian drone or any aircraft. It falls into the sea with the help of a parachute. Then the parachute separates. One part of the sonobuoy comes up. The other goes into the water.
Do they dive…
One part of the sonobuoy instrument floats on the surface of the water. The other part is attached to a wire, which is at a depth of a few meters inside the water.

How does a sonobuoy work?
Sonobuoys detect underwater sounds, such as the sound of a submarine’s propeller or the sound of specific pressures underwater.
Who receives its signal…
It depends on whom the Navy or Army appoints as the receiver of its signal. If there is a helicopter, it will receive it. Or the Sea Guardian drone. Or any other aircraft. These are radio signals, which tell that an enemy ship or submarine has entered your maritime boundary. This is the distance. This is the type of movement. This is the location.

After this, preparations to chase away the enemy submarine begin…
Once the signal is received, the Navy can destroy the enemy submarine by launching a missile or torpedo attack using its Romeo helicopter or Sea Guardian drone. Or it can drive it away from the border.
What kind of Sobonbuoy can come…
This is a bit technical… but India has requested AN/SSQ-53G High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare (HAASW) sonobuoys, AN/SSQ-62F HAASW sonobuoys, AN/SSQ-36 sonobuoys and related technical items.
