Three people died due to the bite of a poisonous snake in Chhattisgarh. Regarding the incident, the police said on Sunday that a woman and her one and a half year old son are among the three people who died due to snake bite in separate incidents in Korba district.
The victims, Shani Bai Kole and her son Vinay Kumar, were sleeping in their house in Shivpur village under Pali police station area when they were bitten by the snake on Saturday night, an official said, according to a news agency report.
He said that their family members took both of them to the community health center, where they died during treatment. The official said that on Friday, a 50-year-old man died in a similar incident in Karanwapara village of Pali area.

The official said that earlier this week, a 15-year-old girl died of snakebite in Donganala village under Pali development block. With the onset of monsoon season, incidents of snakebite are increasing in the forest areas of Pali block.
