Chennai: Minor rape victim’s parents allege assault at police station, police denies

The parents of a 10-year-old rape victim in Chennai have alleged that the police beat them up and detained them in the police station for hours on August 31. However, the police have denied the allegations. According to information, on August 30, the girl’s mother noticed a strong smell coming from her daughter after school. After this, suspecting something was wrong, she took the girl to a local clinic. The doctors there suspected sexual abuse and referred the family to a government hospital.

According to the FIR, the mother initially did not ask her husband about it. But later the girl’s mother demanded a medical examination. After the examination, the doctors confirmed that the girl had been sexually assaulted.
