The aim of this study on ChatGPT is to check the capabilities of OpenAI’s platform. In this study, they want to see whether ChatGPT can work well in difficult clinical cases. For this, the researchers have used Medscape Clinical Challenges, which presented the scenario of the patient’s condition.

Tips for different types of diseases
These cases depicted multiple health-related problems. In this, they wanted to see if ChatGPT could easily diagnose the disease and recommend the related treatment.
The researchers tested ChatGPT on 150 clinical challenges published after August 2021. Each case had details of the patient’s history, treatment, and tests, and the researchers wanted to compare the results from ChatGPT with their own reports.

What was revealed by the research results
ChatGPT gave correct answers in 49 percent of cases. When these answers were compared to the responses of Medscape users, ChatGPT gave answers on time about 61 percent of the time. The study found that ChatGPT achieved about 74 percent accuracy, with clear answers in 49 percent of cases. It did eliminate incorrect answers, but its reliability during treatment has been reduced.
